I think my exit strategy would be to work on this company until it’s a success (hopefully within a couple years) and keep it running until I'm about 30 and ready to have kids. I have selected this exit strategy because I've always known that I want to work really hard in the business world during the 20s. Stop working when I start having kids, then once the kids are in middle school I want to work in college admissions or be a college advisor! I don’t think my exit strategy has at all affected my outlook/process on creating this business model because I never considered it prior to this assignment. However, looking back, I don’t think my end goal would have changed any of my process work because regardless if I want to keep the company or sell it, I want it to be successful and profitable.

This semester, my biggest failure would be time-management. This is normally a skill that I feel I have "mastered", but clearly there are always ways to improve. Normally I am very good at managing the days of the week. I like to do work on Sundays-Fridays. This semester I was taking Finance, Management, Typography, Art History, and Entrepreneurship. Finance is known to be a brutal class, and I was determined to end with a B (which is hard but attainable in finance). Because of this I typically spend Tuesday-Fridays purely doing finance. I would spend Sundays doing work for Art History and Entrepreneurship and then on Mondays I would do Typography and management. This was very hard to justify in my head because all of these classes were equally important to my major/minor, as well as for my development as a person. Sometimes I felt defeated knowing that I spend so much of my time doing Finance when it’s the same amount of...

Existing Market.  Step 1: I believe my next goal for my business venture is to learn how to attract a target segment. I feel comfortable having a large segment that includes all genders, races, ages, and professions, but the issue is attracting them. Step 2: I received feedback from my three (facetime) interviews that I would need to do some marketing to get the new company launched and known. 2 of my interviewees suggested that I should have a large online presence in terms of marketing since Auds&Pods is an electronic platform and also because of coronavirus, everyone is on their phones and inside all day. One person suggested that I make an Instagram for the company and start following authors and podcasters.   I asked them if ads on social media would be annoying because I have a tendency to skip ads or scroll past them when I see them. They suggested that if there are enough ads, eventually it'll pique some interest. They said real posts instead of...

Resources Human capital: I believe I found a program that I am creative (1) and innovative (2) Social capital: after reading this assignment, I have decided to make a more human experience to my site. Instead of just the site generating lists of books and podcast recommendations, there will also be a "friends" feature where people can post their lists and suggest ones for you based on your list and likes! (3) Financial capital: there will be a membership fee of $5 a month (4). Also, you can write 2 in-depth reviews of an audiobook or podcast and post it to the site to get a free audiobook or podcast of your choice! (5) Capabilities: the website will produce user-generated content based on your past reads (a short survey of your interests (6), and your likes on social media (7) Culture: I want my culture to be a friendly and relaxed culture where bookworms/avid listeners can discuss their sophisticated books (8) but also whe...

https://youtu.be/HZgTtroe2mo I got very positive feedback on my last elevator pitch! One of my commenters pointed out that Auds&Pods is a very memorable name. Another one of my commenters suggested I break free from the script. I do think this elevator pitch is my best yet. For this one, I dressed professionally. I have a crack in my phone camera which is why I still used my webcam last time, but this time I asked my roommate to borrow her phone so the quality is better. I also tried to say Auds&Pods more to get the name to stick in the mind of the consumer, and I attempted to memorize my script.

1) What was the general theme or argument of the book?   I chose to read Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman. The general theme of this book was that we have 2 "systems" of the brain that we can think with: one system includes our initial reactions to new information, observations, and experiences (generally categorized as a quick and efficient method of thinking) and the second system includes how we think and process new information, observations and experiences (thought to be a more long, creative, analytical process). 2) This book definitely fell in line with this class. The processes of this class forces me to not only come up with creative ideas, but to reflect and tweak them. For example, when we had to do the elevator pitch the first time, I came up with my script in like 10 minutes and just filmed and uploaded (initial reaction system). On the second practice elevator pitch, I had to look at my feedback and decide what I agreed would improve my pi...

1) My first connection is with Emily, who I consider an expert in my industry, marketing in the fashion and cosmetic industry. Emily, a senior that is about to graduate from UF, who is a marketing major like me and has a lot of the same extra curriculars as me. She does some graphic design stuff and also has had many well-established internships in the beauty/cosmetics industry. 2) Emily is a domain expert in my industry because she has had many internships in the beauty industry and just secured a full-time job with a beauty company. She is working for their marketing team which is exactly the kind of job I want when I graduate. 3) Emily is my friend, two grades above me, who I often go to for career advice. For the purpose of this assignment, I facetimed her to talk to her. 4) Emily gave me advice on how to navigate an internship this summer and how to spend my time bettering myself for my career over the next 2 years at UF. 5) Emily is a great person to know becaus...

1)  You.  Who I am didn’t change much since my last napkin. I still consider myself creative, socially aware, and detail-oriented. I spend my free time drawing, and more recently I've picked up reading. I do have time to read now because of Corona-virus, but I still would like to implement this concept of Auds&Pods because this isolation period won't last forever, and I won't have much time to read when life goes back to normal. 2)  What are you offering to customers?  I am offering a website, called "Auds&Pods," that creates user-generated recommendation lists of audiobooks and podcasts! These recommendations will be based on a short survey of what your interests are, your past reads, and your likes on social media if you choose to link your accounts to this site. Once the list is created, there will be links to these audiobooks and podcasts on a platform of your choice, like Kindle, Apple, etc.), as well as the prices listed next to each opti...

Script: Hi! My name is Alexa and I would like to introduce you to a new platform for your audiobooks & podcasts! Do you ever find yourself stuck in a rut with audios? Can't find one that you like? Need suggestions? I also struggle with this, but I think I have found a solution! You are probably familiar with the two powerhouse apps for audiobooks and podcasts, Apple and Spotify. 2 apps would be plenty! If….they were more use friendly and customized. The issue with these apps is that they are so plain and don’t offer any user-generated content. In this new app, "Auds & Pods," there will be user-generated suggestions based on your listening history and an optional short survey about your interests. In addition, you have the option to link your social media to the app, and suggestions will come up based on your Facebook and Instagram likes. I encourage you to try this new app if you not satisfied with your current options! Let's finally ...

I think that my target market is a wide range of ages, races, and genders. Podcasts are popular with young people because it's techy, but also old people because you can listen to the news and books on this platform. However, for this purpose, I am choosing my sample customer to be a young woman (early 20s) since most of my interviews were my friends that fit this demographic. This 20 year-old woman likes to work out, cook, and tan in her free time. She is very school-oriented and is on top of her work, but does a good job balancing social activities in her life. She drives a white Toyota Camry that was a high school graduation gift from her parents. She watches FRIENDS, NCIS, and Bachelor. No kids or pets, but she has a cactus in her room that she tends to once a month. Her favorite books are The Bell Jar, Perks of Being a Wallflower, and she's interested in finding a good biography to read. She is also interested in reading some history in order to educate herself. ...
